Hi, I’m Emma – “Memjoa” is an annagram of my name ‘Emma Jo’. I’m 30 and my husband, Dan, and I have two beautiful daughters – Martha and Connie. We live in the picturesque town of Midhurst, right in the heart of the South Downs National Park.
My love of photography began when I was just a child, when my Grandmother bought me my first SLR camera, I can still clearly remember the excitement within me when we left the shop with my very own professional camera.
However, when I left school I trained as a hairdresser at Vidal Sassoon in London. We were about to hit the 2008 recession and at the time it made more sense, people needed their hair doing but photography was more of a luxury. I knew it wouldn’t be forever and that one day I would be doing what I am now, and thankfully I didn’t have to wait long.
After 6 years in the hairdressing industry working for someone else, I finally had the courage to go out on my own and become a mobile hairdresser, giving my now husband and I the chance to save the deposit for a mortgage, we purchased our house in Midhurst in 2013. We were married in October 2014 and in May 2015 we welcomed our first daughter into the world.
This is when I decided that I could finally persure the career of my dreams.
My aim is to offer beautiful timeless portraits with limited props and really focusing on the teeny tiny details – after all, they are only ‘teeny tiny’ for such a short time, its so hugely important that we capture those precious moments to treasure forever.
Most importantly wheather you are struggling to make ends meet or a multi- millionaire I am confident my prices will suit all.
